Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Mong Tuong and I am the story teller of Phuc Khang Corporation – the Green Building Developer. You are listening to the program “1001 green things”. Phuc Khang expects what is happening in our world to be told in “1001 green things” in order to “touch” and to “wake up” the love in the audiences. Then, the concept about the green and sustainable lifestyle will surely be spread and educated.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Which dishes do you have today? Vegetarian or meat? With or without soup … Which color of your outfits do you wear today and which materials? By which means of transportation do you use to go to work today: motorbike, car or bus … How many degrees Celsius is the air-conditioner in your room? Do you like to spend time watering flower pots in the balcony?
We are here to serve all of you. Because YOU are the KINGS of the world in which we are living. Everyday, we provide you with food to eat, air to breathe, energy to serve necessities and we also help YOU to “solve” wastes after use.
We are everything around you. We are assigned by Mother of Nature to help you “manage” this world. However … sometimes … we are exhausted, we need to be protected, respected, cared and loved.
Dear our KINGS!
What do you think if you receive such a message one day? We – people of modern age with a lot of pressure in life, work and family. Besides, we have hundreds and even thousands of necessities everyday. By self-considering the owner of this planet, we allow ourselves to decide the fates of other species, take advantages of other resources to serve our necessities and needs. Despite being a little incomparable, it is quite possible to compare our powers with those of KINGS who rule this world. Yet, will the speed of consuming and exploiting natural resources without the conscience of savings nowadays reduce the longevity and sustainability of KINGS? If one day, everything around us gets exhausted and goes on strike, what will we do? Where is water for us to drink, food to eat, vegetables to consume, energy to use, land to live … If paying attention to news, you won’t be strange with warnings about climate change, lack of clean water, natural disasters, storms, floods, droughts, salt marshes … Environmental issues have been threatening the lives of our owns, our relatives and our children. Recent estimates from United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) show series of warnings about threats caused by environmental pollution, especially climate change: there is 70% of current natural disasters relating to climate change; lethal sudden enormous rain; violent storms, floods and droughts continuously happen with increasing levels threatening the existence of all wild species … Living “green and sustainable” is the key to prevent or reduce the effect of environmental issues. There are more than a number of scientific evidences to prove that human beings are not living sustainably and no actual efforts have been made to restore the natural resources to the level of sustainability. Environmental issues, warnings about climate change are not the problems of the far future, of next year, of the next 5 years, 10 years or 100 years. It is the current problem that we are facing. We have been in the zone of danger. Why do we remain blissfully ignorant of news of environmental issues which are happening? Why are we sitting here, waiting for big solutions from organizations or expertise? Why don’t we contribute a little effort to improve the quality of our lives? Destination appears when we depart. Only when we start actions, will everything have progress. It is time for us to change. We should make a little change to contribute our tiny effort to improve the quality of the lives of our owns, our relatives and our children. Sparing these thoughts, Phuc Khang – The green building developer is determined to contribute to changing the mindsets of “owners” of this planet towards the surrounding nature. It is also the reason why Phuc Khang published “The Green Blog” (Phuc Khang’s website) and “1001 green things” (Phuc Khang’s fanpage).
This idea was inspired from “1001 nights” – the story of a brave, intelligent and flexible girl who was successful in educating a tyrant to become a bright king with full of compassion.
Thanks to the real stories which are happening in our world and told in “1001 green things”, Phuc Khang expects to “touch” and to “wake up” the love in the audiences. Then, the concept about the green and sustainable lifestyle will surely be spread and educated. All goals will not be formed in a very super or strange manner, but will be started with our compassion towards our surroundings to make everything better.
